Welcome to the home of The West Coast Advantage

Every night, in our tiny 1 bedroom apartment, Gabe and I would sit and talk about everything from health to fitness to business. We would discuss every angle, and sometimes even look to our friends in those industries for their insight. As avid podcast and journal article consumers, we would dissect the information learned from these sources and bring that into our dinner time discussions as well. After joking around about wanting to talk to interesting people, we decided the best way to do that was to sit down and record the people we thought were doing great or interesting things in the health/fitness world. And that is how The West Coast Advantage Podcast was born.

The name, "The West Coast Advantage" came from Gabe and his training partners back in NY. Whenever they would train, Gabe would get the strategy and times to beat before even going into the workout, so they deemed it the "West Coast Advantage." Of course, the meaning has since further developed- I mean, we met out here.

my favorite products

If you know me, you know I'm not a HUGE fan of supplements.

But that being said, there are a couple of things I do think almost everyone can benefit from *as long as your good nutrition habits are in place*

Here are some products (supplements and other things) that are staples for me and my clients!

*Note: I am not affiliated with any of these products.

These are simply all products I know and love and use myself!

About your coach

My story is not like the average person in the Health & Fitness space. I wasn't athletic growing up- I actually hated anything I wasn't naturally good at, and that was everything labeled as a "sport." It wasn't until I went to college that I actually felt the benefit of exercise, and saw what eating differently could do for my body. Unfortunately it swung closer to the disordered eating side for a little bit.

It wasn't until I found CrossFit that I really starting to focus on fueling my body because I saw what being strong could do, and I got a taste for how it felt- and it felt GREAT.

Fast forward a few (several) years to living in the Bay Area, trying to make ends meet in a job I didn't love, and exercising myself into the ground. I wasn't happy with my body, my health was declining rapidly, and my stress levels were shooting through the roof. When I say my health was declining- no matter how much sleep I got, I woke up feeling like garbage, I couldn't eat anything without feeling bloated or uncomfortable (so I was always hungry), and I had this nagging pain in my side that would fluctuate between annoying and incapacitating. On top of that, a shoulder injury I ignored got so bad that it got to a point where I couldn't use my right arm to drive.

My whole identity was centered around being fit- I was a CrossFit Coach and a Phys Ed Teacher- and yet I was walking around like a zombie in my life.

Arielle's street cred:

I eventually took matters into my own hands, and looked for help/direction from an integrative doctor, and did as much research as I could on how to manage stress through diet and lifestyle changes all so that I could just feel better. Now I feel the best I've ever felt, both in the gym and in life.

Since then, I've been researching, learning, and developing my skills as a coach both in the CrossFit and Nutrition space so that I can help you with whatever it is you're going through.

No one should feel like they are stuck feeling uncomfortable in their own body.

No one should feel like they can't achieve their goals.

So here we are, at the end of my story- where does yours begin?

  • CF-L3 Trainer

  • NCI L1 Nutrition Coach

  • Over 8yrs Coaching/Personal Training

  • CrossFit Competitor

  • Olympic Weightlifting Competitor

  • Powerlifting Competitor
